MACAO DESIGN WEEK 2O21

Macao Design Week 2021 showcases outstanding commercial design works from both local and international creators, offering audiences a multidimensional exploration of how cultural narratives and brand stories transform into visual experiences. The main visual design draws inspiration from Macau's vibrant nightscape - in this city where tourism and gaming industries dominate the economy, the ever-changing neon lights that illuminate the darkness serve as a powerful metaphor for the burgeoning energy of Macau's design scene.

Through 26 uniquely crafted English letterforms reconstructed with surrealist techniques, the design visually articulates the philosophy that design both emerges from and integrates seamlessly into everyday life. This dynamic typographic system pulses with the same rhythmic energy as Macau's neon-lit streets, symbolizing the limitless creative potential and explosive growth of the city's design future. The visual language captures that magical moment when commercial spaces come alive after dark, mirroring how Macau's design community is currently radiating its own distinctive brilliance onto the global stage.
